Copyright & DMCA Policy

RentMatcher ("RentMatcher", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by Chase Sims d/b/a RentMatcher, respects the intellectual-property rights of others and asks you to do the same. This Copyright and DMCA Policy explains how to tell us about copyright infringement on RentMatcher, what to do if your content was removed by mistake, and how we handle repeat infringers.

This Policy is part of, and is incorporated into, our Terms of Service. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (the "DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. Section 512. This Policy is not legal advice; if you are unsure of your rights, consider consulting a lawyer.

1. Reporting Copyright Infringement (DMCA Notice)

If you believe content on RentMatcher copies or uses a work you own or control in a way that infringes your copyright, you may send a written notice (a "DMCA Notice") to our designated Copyright Agent. To be effective under 17 U.S.C. Section 512(c)(3), your notice should include substantially all of the following:

Send your notice to our Copyright Agent using the contact details in Section 3. A notice that leaves out the required information may not be actionable, and we may ask you to fix it.

2. What Happens After We Receive A Notice

When we receive a DMCA Notice that appears valid, we may remove or disable access to the material, notify the user who posted it, and give that user a copy of your notice so they can respond. We may also take other steps we consider appropriate, including limiting features or, for repeat infringers, terminating the account. Removing or disabling content in response to a notice is part of how the DMCA process works; it is not a finding that infringement actually occurred.

3. Designated Copyright Agent

RentMatcher's designated Copyright Agent for receiving notices of claimed copyright infringement is:

Copyright Agent, RentMatcher
c/o Chase Sims d/b/a RentMatcher
Email: chase.sims@nxcoresolutions.com

Our Copyright Agent is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office's DMCA Designated Agent Directory (registration number DMCA-1075393), where the agent's current mailing address is on file and publicly available; you can search the directory at https://dmca.copyright.gov. Email is the fastest way to reach the agent. This contact is for copyright notices under the DMCA; for general help, please use support@rentmatcher.app.

4. Counter-Notification

If your content was removed or disabled and you believe that happened because of a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a written counter-notification to our Copyright Agent. Under 17 U.S.C. Section 512(g)(3), it should include substantially all of the following:

When we receive a valid counter-notification, we may send a copy to the person who filed the original notice. We may restore the removed material in 10 to 14 business days after receiving your counter-notification, unless that person first notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to keep you from engaging in the allegedly infringing activity.

5. Repeat Infringers

Consistent with 17 U.S.C. Section 512(i), RentMatcher will, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of copyright or other intellectual-property rights. We may also suspend or terminate an account for a single serious violation. Creating a new account to evade enforcement is not allowed.

6. Misrepresentations

Be careful what you claim. Under 17 U.S.C. Section 512(f), any person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. If you are not sure whether something infringes your rights, you may wish to speak with a lawyer before sending a notice or counter-notice.

7. Trademarks And Other Intellectual Property

If you believe your trademark or other, non-copyright intellectual-property rights are being infringed on RentMatcher, contact us at support@rentmatcher.app with the details. We will review the report under our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines and take action we consider appropriate.
